This course seeks to provide an elementary introduction to India’s economic and social development since independence.
This course will trace the evolution of Indian economy since independence. The experience of planning and development will be discussed. Analysis of different sectors namely agriculture, industry and services will be undertaken. Emphasis will be given on reforms and globalization aspects and their impact on the Indian economy.
