Technical & Science Writing Workshop
May 15 - 19, 2023

IIT Madras is conducting Workshops on Technical and Scientific Writing that are aimed at doctoral students in Engineering and Science. The workshops are open to Ph.D. students who have completed their comprehensive viva-voce examination. These workshops are inspired by the Kenyon-IITM Writing Workshops that were conducted during 2018-2023 by faculty from Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, USA. The workshops to be held this summer will be conducted by the faculty from IIT Madras.


Who - Ph.D. students in the disciplines of Engineering and Science who have completed their comprehensive viva-voce examination
When - May 15-19, 2023

Why - To provide an intensive training towards improving the technical and scientific writing skills of Ph.D. students


The number of participants in the workshops will be limited to ensure adequate interaction between the students and the instructors.


Note that you are expected to submit a short technical proposal on a theme of your research interests (as you can see towards the end of the form) in order to be considered for the workshops. It would be advisable to have the proposal ready before you begin completing the form.


Also note that there will be a registration fee of INR 5,000/- which needs to be paid if you are selected to attend the workshop. The deadline for submitting the application is May 5, 2023.
